please check the below FAQ list for answers.
Before assembly, please check if all parts are included. If anything is missing, contact us via the contact form.
Align the backrest with the back side of the legs, which has a hooking strap attached. The process will be smoother if the seat is lying on its side.
Using a screwdriver at this point might damage the chair, so please use your hands only.
Make sure the screw holes in the armrests and the screw holes in the pipe are aligned straight, and then temporarily tighten them, so they do not change their position later.
Using the screwdriver, tighten the screw until it goes through the pipe.
Open the Nychair X and finish by tightening the screws again.
Whether the screw has passed through the pipe can be determined by checking if the screw can be felt through the seat from the inner side.
Finally, open the chair fully and check the places where the screws connect with the armrests. There should be no space between them.

Make sure that there is enough work space and that the floor is protected.
Firmly push the pipes in, and cover each pipe end with the edge of the sheet to fully hide the pipes.
Insert the pipes firmly as shown in the picture while paying attention to the direction of the seat (the one without the tag is the front) and the pipe.
After inserting the pipes fully, push the tip of each pipe back and cover it with the corner of the seat to hide the tip neatly.

The screws are the parts that hold your weight, so we recommend replacing them with the new screws that come with the seat.
Q.
I proceeded as described in the assembly and instruction manual, but I cannot fully insert a screw. What should I do?
A.
If the screw is tightened at an angle, the thread on the screw can be irreversibly damaged. Make sure the holes are aligned before assembly. If the screw does not go in smoothly, turn it in the opposite direction and then tighten again.
If it cannot be tightened again, please remove it and swap the screws between holes. If the problem remains, there is a possibility that the parts are defective or damaged.
In such a case, please contact us about the circumstances, the product name, the date of purchase, and the store of purchase.
Q.
I would like to purchase replacement parts. How can I check if it will fit my Nychair X?
A.
Nychair X has different specifications depending on the manufacturer. The replacement parts available in our store are only compatible with the following Nychair X:
- Nychair X made by Fujiei Corporation
- Nychair F made by Fujiei Corporation (discontinued)
- Nychair X made by Nyfurniture (discontinued)
The chairs can be distingushed by the seat fabric.
Both Fujiei Corporation and Nyfurniture use twill weave fabric with a diagonal pattern. If the seat is made with plain weave, it was made by another company.
How to recognize Fujiei Corporation's Nychair X?
They can be distinguished by the tag on the back.
- There are tags with Nychair X and Fujiei Corporation logos on the back of the seat.
- Hexagonal-head screws are used at the intersection of both legs. The screws are made of stainless steel.
- Hexagonal-head screws are used in the front and back of the armrests. The screws are made of stainless steel.
- Both sides of the upper part of the seat have reinforcement stitching, so the inner pipe does not move easily.
How to recognize Nyfurniture's Nychair X?
- No tag is attached.
- Phillips-head screws are used at the intersection of both legs.
- Phillips-head screws are used in the front and back of the armrests.
- There is no reinforcement stitching on any side of the upper part of the seat.
Q.
The seat is upside down. How to reverse it?
A.
Please follow the following instructions to reverse the seat to the correct position.
Hold the ends of the seat pipes.
Collapse the pipes inward.
Grab the pipes at the bend at the lower end of the backrest.
Lift.
Make sure the seat is in the correct position before assembly.

I am wondering if the chair will support a heavier family member or my children sitting together.
A.
The load capacity for Nychair X series (X, Rocking, 80 and Ottoman) is 95 kg.
Q.
Is Nychair X made and assembled in Japan?
A.
Yes, the country of origin for Fujiei Corporation's Nychair X parts, including steel pipes and fabric, is Japan. Assembly and sewing are also performed in the selected domestic factories.
Q.
I already have a sofa in the living room, but I am considering buying a foldable, easy-to-carry Nychair X. I live in a small house, and I am afraid that the chair may take up too much space. Is the chair big?
A.
Of course, everyone might feel differently, but many say that "it took less space than I expected". You can place it closer to the wall so that it does not take up too much room. The armchair folds easily, and it is extremely portable, so you can relax anywhere. Nychair X folds to a width of only 15 cm.

Q.
My Nychair X is dirty. Can I wash it?
A.
If the seat is dirty, we recommend dry cleaning it.
Washing the seat with water might cause shrinkage, resulting in difficulties with reassembly. Additionally, water dissolves the glue, which protects the fabric in the seat openings from tearing.

Q.
I am worried about damaging the floor with Nychair X.
A.
Nychair X is designed in such a way that it distributes the weight on a larger surface than a standard chair; therefore, it does not impact the floors as strongly.
However, due to the friction, there is a possibility that the chair leaves scratch marks on the floor. In particular, the friction and load concentration are higher in Nychair X Rocking.
We recommend using a rug underneath the chair for sensitive flooring types.
Q.
I am considering purchasing this as a balcony chair. Can I use it outside?
A.
Nychair X is an indoor chair. If left outdoors, it can be damaged by excess UV exposure and rain. Please note that using the chair while the fabric is wet might cause color transfer. If you carry the chair to use it outside, please make sure it is stored indoors when not in use.
Q.
The screw and nut at the leg intersection have come off. Is it possible to repair it?
A.
Parts, such as bolts, washers and nuts, can be replaced.
The bolts and nuts are designed in a way that prevents them from coming off, but if they do, please contact us and we will try to resolve the issue. Please note that replacement parts might involve a fee.
For your safety, stop using the chair if it is damaged.

Assembly procedure
1. Install the parts in the following order, starting from the outside of the leg: screw head ⇒ leg ⇒ washer ⇒ leg ⇒ washer ⇒ nut.
2. Hold the nut with a spanner and tighten it with a hexagonal wrench.
3. Tighten the nut until you can see the tip of the screw. (You can check if the screw surface is slightly sticking out of the nut with your finger.)
Check if the screws and nuts are tight and if the legs open and close smoothly.
Q.
The black resin cap on the tip of the pipe is scratched and damaged. Is it possible to purchase or change it?
A.
If the resin cap was made by our company, it can be replaced. Please contact us via the contact form.
Please note that replecement parts may not be in stock, and it might take some time to restock them.

Our black resin tips are not compatible with the Nychair X made by Nyfurniture.
As we also carry replacement pipes, please consider changing the whole pipe.
Q.
The string on the back of the chair has come off. How do I tie it again?
A.
If the string comes off, reattach it using the following instructions.

The screw that connects the armrest and the seat pipe broke.
A.
The screws are attached to replacement seats and can also be purchased separately. Please note that replecement parts may not be in stock, and it might take some time to restock them.

Q.
The chair makes a squeaky sound when I sit in it. How can I fix it?
A.
The reason might be that the screws connecting the armrests and seat pipes are loose. Retighten them to resolve the issue.
Q.
The legs feel loose after using the chair for some time. Can I tighten them?
A.
The screws and nuts at the leg crossings will get loose over time due to vibrations. Tighten them periodically with widely available tools to improve safety.
