RE: Nychair X is a special product series that brings new life to products which, for appearance-related reasons, could no longer be sold as regular items. As a measure to reduce waste and achieve a more sustainable production, we have introduced the series starting with replacement seats. 

Although the products may have small visual irregularities, they are fully functional, and the differences do not have any impact on comfort of use. 

Because we view Nychair X as tools meant to be used for many years, we think that small scratches and individual characteristics can be embraced and grown with over time. 

We would be delighted to deliver RE: Nychair X to those who share this philosophy and values. 

In the production process of seat fabric, certain features inevitably occur, such as textural stripes and joining knots. Fabrics that were classified as non-standard due to these appearance-related reasons have been revived as RE: Nychair X replacement seats. They can be used and enjoyed without any problems. 

The striped textural patterns that appears in non-standard fabric, and the knots which are the joining points of threads — these are unavoidable results of continuously weaving long lengths of fabric. 

Each time a thread breaks, a new thread must be joined, and this process appears in the fabric as a joining knot. 

In addition, when a thread breaks, the loom temporarily stops. When it starts moving again, the weaving speed changes. As a result, the density of the weft threads changes as well, creating irregularities in the pattern. 

You can almost hear the footsteps of the workers rushing over each time the loom stops, and see the careful handwork as they meticulously tie thread to thread so that the knot will be as invisible as possible. When you touch each of these marks, you can feel the living breath of the production process behind them.

Replacement seats made from non-standard fabric are offered at a special price. 

Please note that the RE: seat does not include the “Nychair X” tag, and that the packaging differs from regular products.

Replacement screws are not included. If you require replacement screws, please purchase them separately.  

As a first RE: Nychair X item in the international store, we have chosen a highly popular 2024 Limited Edition seat color, Mauve Brown. 

Ottoman seats in the matching color are still available as a standard (non-RE:) product.
