Nychair X purchase and delivery
What are the shipping costs?
The shipping cost will be calculated at checkout based on selected country of delivery. The rates are flat regardless of quantity of purchased items with an exception of lower rate for purchases of a single replacement seat for exports outside European Union.
I live outside European Union. Will I have to pay duties and taxes at import?
Yes, import fees will apply upon import. The fees are handled by the courier company, so we cannot give you an estimate. On the other hand, the purchase price will have the VAT deducted at checkout.
How can I add EU VAT number to my order?
Unfortunately due to technical reasons it is not possible to enter EU VAT number in our online store. Please contact us and we will inform you on how you can proceed and use the number for your purchase.
Technical properties of Nychair X
Is Nychair X an outdoor chair? Can I leave it outside?
No, Nychair X is an indoor chair. If left outdoors, it can be damaged by UV exposure and rain and develop mold. Please note that using the chair while it's wet might cause color transfer. Because Nychair X is lightweight and easy to carry, some users move them to the balconies and gardens periodically; if you do so, please make sure to store the chair indoors when not in use or in the case of rain to mimimize the potential damage.
How can I clean the fabric?
If the seat is dirty, we recommend dry cleaning it. Because the seat is made of cotton with a weave similar to denim, washing it with water might cause shrinkage, resulting in difficulties with reassembly. Additionally, water dissolves the water-soluble glue, which protects the fabric in the seat openings from tearing.

Nychair X and Rocking require assembly. How do I do it and what difficulties I might encounter?
Assembly requires a commonly used Phillips-head screwdriver and four screws (included). The box also includes printed instructions in English. Common issues include difficulty with threading the screw and reversed seat.

I have a vintage Nychair X. How can I check if the replacement seat will fit my chair?
The replacement parts available in our store are only compatible with the following Nychair X:
Nychair X made by Fujiei Corporation
Nychair F made by Fujiei Corporation (discontinued)
Nychair X made by Nyfurniture (discontinued)
The chairs can be distingushed by the seat fabric.
Both Fujiei Corporation and Nyfurniture use twill weave fabric with a diagonal pattern. If the seat is made with plain weave, it was made by another company and is not an original product.

How to recognize Fujiei Corporation's Nychair X?
There are tags with Nychair X and Fujiei Corporation logos on the back of the seat.
Hexagonal-head screws are used at the intersection of both legs. The screws are made of stainless steel.
Hexagonal-head screws are used in the front and back of the armrests. The screws are made of stainless steel.
Both sides of the upper part of the seat have reinforcement stitching, so the inner pipe does not move easily.
How to recognize Nyfurniture's Nychair X?
No tag is attached.
Phillips-head screws are used at the intersection of both legs.
Phillips-head screws are used in the front and back of the armrests.
There is no reinforcement stitching on any side of the upper part of the seat.
Does the chair cause damage to the floors?
Nychair X is designed in such a way that it distributes the weight on a larger surface than a standard chair. However, due to the friction of the legs on the floor caused by normal usage of the chair, there is a possibility that it leaves scratch marks on the floor. In particular, the friction and load concentration are higher in Nychair X Rocking.
We recommend using a rug underneath the chair for sensitive flooring types.
What is the maximum load capacity of the chair?
Load capacity of all Nychair X chairs and ottomans is 95 kg.
